Camp Napoleon Council marker
On May 26, 1865, delegates of the Five Tribes and of the Caddo, Osage, Kiowa, Cheyenne, Arapaho and Comanche nations agreed the Camp Napoleon Compact at the council camp on the Washita River where Verden now stands. The granite marker on our grounds was placed in 1931 by the Oklahoma College for Women, now the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
